The ambience seemed to awaken the senses. The light and soft music ensured that you leave aside the agonies of your day-to-day life and relish the moment. The venue was just stone’s throw away from the Arabian Sea at Church Gate. The traditionally decorated 'PANORAMA & SHIVA' halls of the hotel just seemed ready for the get-together.???? You guessed it right!
It was Hotel Ambassador, Mumbai where SCMHRD Alumni Meet 2009 was held on 21st November. With meticulous planning by the Alumni Team, the event was sure to attract a large number of alumni dur-ing the meet. The banner put in front of the venue was even more apt. It said – ‘It all hap-pens here. Come, relive those moments’.
The response to the meet was overwhelming this year. Despite their prior commitments, ex-students of SCMHRD made it a point to at-tend the meet. Many of them had come from distant places and suburbs, beating the ‘never-say-less’ traffic. The event started at 8:30 PM with presentation from Alumni Team about the progress made by the college, student achievements etc. during the previous year. It was followed by the invitation from NEEV Team for participation in NEEV’09 (11-13 De-cember). The alumni appreciated the ‘triumph-march’ of their alma mater with much awe.
The meet attracted ex-students belonging to various batches, right from 1995 till 2009. But the years of passing out had little meaning thereafter as most of them became part of big, happening hurdles. People shared their experi-ences, stories, memories and adventures of col-lege days with their classmates, juniors and sen-iors. Ex-Students missed the presence of their beloved Subbu Sir who couldn’t make it because of inevitable reasons. But the presence of amia-ble faculty fraternity including Ms. Priya Kher, Ms. Neha Parashar and Ms. Renu Mishra more than made for it. Alumni felt jubilant while ex-changing views and interacting with their teach-ers. Dining experience was icing on the cake, with delicious cuisines being offered.
The interaction and experience – sharing was getting bigger and better. As time started fleet-ing past midnight, alumni couldn’t help making headway towards their residences.
The Alumni Cell of SCMHRD took the baton of organising the Alumni Meet’09 and did it to per-fection. Apart from Alumni team, the students represented various committees such as Place-ments, NEEV, Entrepreneurship Cell, Corporate Communications Team, Guest Lecture Team etc. The alumni enjoyed interacting with the current students of their alma mater. The suc-cessful conduction of the event declared it loudly that the bond between the SCMHRDians and their alma mater has got only stronger over the years.
